Roberto E. Cosentino is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Legal Studies at the Lesley H. and William L. Collins College of Professional Studies, St. John’s University. He holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice (Summa Cum Laude), an M.A. in Government and Politics (Comparative Government & International Relations), and a J.D. from St. John’s University. With over 25 years of legal practice, he has resolved over 100 civil cases and secured favorable verdicts for clients. He is admitted to practice in multiple U.S. jurisdictions, including the Supreme Court of the United States.
Prof. Cosentino’s research focuses on tort reform, ethical legal practices, comparative law (influenced by studies at Università degli Studi di Firenze and work in Milan, Italy), and addressing systemic inequities in the U.S. justice system. He teaches courses on Tort Law, Civil Litigation, Insurance Law, and Legal Ethics. He serves on the New York State Appellate Division’s Committee on Character and Fitness and has extensive trial experience as a managing attorney and partner.
Education details include his formative years in the NYC public school system, followed by Cardinal Spellman High School in the Bronx. His career bridges academia and practice, emphasizing practical legal training and ethical advocacy.
