معرفی
Dr Robert van Nues is a researcher affiliated with Newcastle University whose work centres on RNA biology, ribosome biogenesis and bacterial small non-coding RNAs. His scholarly output spans the molecular mechanisms governing RNA helicase function in ribosome assembly, the roles of the bacterial small RNA IsrA in coupling transcription to mRNA fate, and the systematic nomenclature of signal recognition particle RNAs.
Research Interests
- RNA helicase regulation of snoRNP dynamics on pre-ribosomes
- rRNA 2'-O-methylation and ribosome assembly
- Bacterial small non-coding RNA IsrA (McaS) and its ribonucleoprotein complexes
- Signal recognition particle RNA structure and evolution
Across his three most recent publications (2021, 2016, 2005), Dr van Nues explores a continuum of RNA-centric questions—from the structural choreography of ribosome biogenesis in eukaryotes to the regulatory networks of bacterial sRNAs and the phylogenetic classification of SRP RNAs. These studies collectively underscore his expertise in molecular and structural RNA biology.
