Robert Yee is a David Richards Junior Research Fellow in Economic History at Wadham College, University of Oxford. His research focuses on the economic and political history of modern Europe, particularly Britain and Germany post-World War I. He holds a PhD and MA from Princeton University and a BA from Vanderbilt University, with visiting fellowships at the Paris School of Economics and Humboldt University of Berlin.
Yee’s primary research examines the Bank of England’s role in maintaining London’s financial centrality during the interwar period, detailed in his upcoming book under contract with Cambridge University Press. His work also explores German banking regulation politics and British economic democracy. He has been awarded the Economic History Society’s Thirsk-Feinstein Prize (2024), supported by DAAD, Chateaubriand Fellowships, and others.
Teaching responsibilities include tutorials on British/European history since 1750 and supervision of History & Economics theses. He contributes to research centers such as the Oxford Centre for Economic and Social History and the Oxford Centre for European History.
