Robert Uchida

Robert Uchida is a Sessional Lecturer in Violin at the University of Alberta, with additional teaching experience at Acadia University, Manhattan School of Music, and the National Arts Centre of Canada's Young Artists Program. He holds a BMus from the University of Ottawa and an MMus in Violin Performance from the Manhattan School of Music.

His research and performance interests span violin repertoire, chamber music, orchestral music, and pedagogy. He has collaborated with renowned orchestras such as the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra (as Concertmaster since 2013), Symphony Nova Scotia, and the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. His recordings include the award-winning 'Requiem 21.5' and works by Andrew Violette, reflecting his focus on contemporary and classical violin performance.

In advising and grants, Robert has mentored students advancing to prestigious institutions like Juilliard and the Guildhall School.
