Robert Thorne is a Professor in the Department of Physics at Cornell University's College of Arts and Sciences. His research spans biological physics, experimental condensed matter physics, and physics education innovations. He holds a B.Sc. from the University of Manitoba (1981) and a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana (1987).
