معرفی
Robert Scott Seville is the Senior Associate Dean of the College of Agriculture, Life Sciences, and Natural Resources (CALSNR) at the University of Wyoming, and holds a Professorship in the Department of Zoology and Physiology. He leads the NIH NIGMS IDeA Wyoming INBRE program, focusing on biomedical research and education infrastructure. His research spans Parasitology, with a focus on taxonomy/systematics of coccidian parasites in vertebrates, evolutionary biology, and science education outreach.
Education: He earned a Ph.D. (1992), M.S. (1987), and dual B.S. degrees (Secondary Science Education, 1989; Zoology, 1981) from the University of Wyoming and San Diego State University.
Research Interests: His work addresses parasite biodiversity in mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians, emphasizing molecular systematics and host-parasite coevolution. He also develops innovative educational strategies using parasites as teaching tools in biology courses.
Publications: Over 80 peer-reviewed articles on coccidian parasites, small mammal ecology, and science education. Recent work includes discoveries of new Eimeria species in squirrels, reptiles, and birds.
Service: Active in professional societies (American Society of Parasitologists, Helminthological Society of Washington), and leads programs advancing STEM education and rural biomedical research collaborations.
