Robert S. Scott is an Associate Professor in the Anthropology Department at the School of Arts and Sciences, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. He serves as the Director of Student Opportunities and teaches courses including "Extinction", "Human Osteology", and "Quantitative Methods in Evolutionary Anthropology".

Research Interests
Dr. Scott's research focuses on hominin evolution and paleoecology, with a particular interest in environmental influences on hominid evolution. He is renowned for co-developing a 3D method for dental microwear texture analysis, published in Nature (2005), which revolutionized dietary reconstruction of early hominins. His expertise extends to the ecomorphology of fossil bovids and equids for ancient environment reconstruction, with extensive fieldwork in Turkey, Hungary, China, and Java. Current research includes Homo erectus studies in Asia.

In his role as Director of Student Opportunities, Dr. Scott facilitates academic and research opportunities for students. He has participated in international collaborations across multiple continents, contributing to significant paleoanthropological fieldwork.
