Robert Porter is the William R. Kenan, Jr. Professor and Department Chair in the Department of Economics at Northwestern University, part of the Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences. He holds a PhD from Princeton University (1981) and has been at Northwestern since 1987. His research focuses on collusion, price wars, and bidders' behavior in auctions, contributing to Industrial Organization and Auction Theory. Key roles include President of the Econometric Society (2015) and the Industrial Organization Society (2020–2021).
