Robert Lockhart is a Tutor in Accounting and Finance and a Doctoral Researcher at Strathclyde Business School (SBS), University of Strathclyde. He joined SBS in 2021 and began teaching in 2022. Robert holds a First Class BAcc (Hons), MSc with Distinction, PG Cert in Research Methodology, and is pursuing a PhD in Accounting and Finance. His research focuses on venture capital, private equity, corporate governance, employee wellbeing, and ESG. He also serves as a Research Assistant in the Accounting and Finance department.
Research Interests include Venture Capital & Private Equity Activism, Corporate Misconduct, IPOs, and Non-Financial Reporting. His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to responsible consumption and sustainable finance.
Teaching spans Corporate Finance, Financial Accounting, and Data Analysis at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has received awards for teaching excellence, including the SBS Teaching Excellence Award (2023) and University-wide Teaching Excellence Award (2023).
He leads the project "Essays in Employee Health and Corporate Finance" (2021–2025) and serves on the Scottish Area Group Executive Committee of the British Accounting and Finance Association.
