Robert Kulhan is an Adjunct Professor of Business Administration at The Fuqua School of Business, Duke University, and an Adjunct Professor at Columbia Business School. He is the Founder & CEO of Business Improv® (BI), a global leader in experiential learning programs for corporations. Based in Chicago, LA, and NYC, BI serves Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, and leading business schools. Kulhan’s work focuses on applying improvisation techniques to enhance leadership, team collaboration, conflict resolution, and creative problem-solving. His programs are used by firms such as Google, PepsiCo, American Express, and the U.S. Department of Defense.
His book, *Getting to 'Yes And'* (Stanford University Press, 2017), explores how improvisation principles improve business communication and decision-making. Kulhan has taught at institutions including Wharton, UCLA Anderson, and the Australian Graduate School of Management. As a performer, he trained at Chicago’s Second City and is a co-founder of the improv troupe *Baby Wants Candy*.
Kulhan’s research interests include managerial improvisation, fostering collaborative cultures, and adaptive leadership. His work integrates behavioral science with improv techniques to address modern business challenges.
