Robert Kollar is an Associate Professor of Practice in Accounting at Duquesne University’s Palumbo-Donahue School of Business, where he teaches undergraduate and graduate accounting courses. He transitioned the Master of Accountancy (MAcc) program from part-time to full-time in 2012 and founded the School’s Annual Accounting Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Conference, which supports student scholarships. Kollar holds an MBA and B.S.B.A. from Duquesne University.
Research & Education: His expertise spans accounting education, non-profit accounting, budgeting, and executive training for Fortune 500 companies and non-profits. He has developed innovative courses on finance and auditing, integrating simulations like the SOX 404 compliance exercise.
Awards: Recognized with the Eugene P. Beard Outstanding Service Award (2019–2020), Dean’s Excellence in Teaching Award (2019), and Kurt Rethwisch Teacher of the Year Award (2019). Also received the Distinguished Service Award from PowerLink (2018).
Professional Contributions: Prior to academia, Kollar worked at Ernst & Young and Schneider Downs & Co. He co-founded CPA firm KuhlemanKollar & Associates and serves on non-profit boards like the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh. He chairs committees for the University’s strategic planning and scholarships.
