Robert Kilroy is an Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Fine Art and Education, Limerick School of Art and Design (Technological University of the Shannon). His work bridges art history, psychoanalysis, and digital media, focusing on intersections between technology, art, and human subjectivity. He holds a PhD from Trinity College Dublin (2016) and has authored books like Marcel Duchamp’s Fountain: One Hundred Years Later (2017). Kilroy currently serves as Visiting Lecturer at New York University Abu Dhabi, University College Dublin, and Sorbonne Université’s Abu Dhabi campus.

Research Interests: Kilroy explores infra-disciplinary links between art history, philosophy, and psychoanalysis. He pioneered concepts like 'media post-mortem' linking daguerreotypes and NFTs, and analyzes post-pandemic cinematic intimacy through psychoanalytic frameworks.
Publications: Recent work appears in Turia + Kant, 19: Interdisciplinary Studies, and Psychoanalysis and the Small Screen. Upcoming projects include a book on AI and art.
