Jérémie Koering is a Professor of Early Modern Art at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland) since 2020. He has held visiting professorships at the University of Basel, Sorbonne Abu Dhabi University, and teaching roles at institutions including École du Louvre, Université Lumière Lyon 2, and Université Panthéon-Sorbonne Paris 1. His academic career includes long-term research affiliations with CNRS and the Centre André Chastel in Paris, as well as prestigious fellowships at Clark Art Institute, Getty Research Institute, and Villa Médicis.

His research focuses on the epistemology of art history, Renaissance and early modern art, and the anthropology of images. He has authored significant publications including Les iconophages. Une histoire de l'ingestion des images (2021) and co-edited major works on Andrea Mantegna and the intersections of Damisch/Schapiro theories.
Koering has received substantial funding such as the Swiss National Science Fund Project "La ville ornée" (2021), and his scholarship has been recognized with awards like the Pierre Daix Prize (2022) and François-Victor Noury Prize (2014). He is currently working on two upcoming books analyzing Meyer Schapiro's methodologies and Renaissance artistic process metaphors.
