Jérémie Koering is Full Professor of Modern Art History at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland) since 2020 and Research Fellow at CNRS (Centre André Chastel, Paris) since 2010. His work bridges Epistemology of Art History, Renaissance and Early Modern Art, and Anthropology of Images, with a focus on political dimensions of art, artistic imagination, and image consumption. He has held visiting positions at Yale University, Clark Art Institute, and Villa I Tatti.
- Education: PhD from Université Paris 1 (2005), Habilitation from EHESS (2019)
- Key Projects: Directed CNRS research on painted facades (La ville ornée, 2021-2024), explored Meyer Schapiro's drawing epistemology, and studied Renaissance artistic process metaphors
