Robert Kelsh

Robert Kelsh is Professor and Deputy Head of the Department of Life Sciences at the University of Bath, affiliated with multiple research centers including the Centre for Networks and Collective Behaviour and Centre for Mathematical Biology.

Education:

• PhD in Developmental Biology, University of Cambridge

Research Interests: Focuses on gene regulatory networks in neural crest development, zebrafish pigmentation genetics, and mathematical modeling of developmental processes. His work bridges stem cell biology, disease modeling, and pattern formation in vertebrate systems.

Recent Publications: Primarily explore neural crest cell fate specification, pigment pattern formation, and evolutionary developmental biology using zebrafish models, with applications in oncology and environmental adaptation.

Responsibilities: Director of Research (2019-present), Member of Senate (2020-present), and Academic Assembly Working Group member.
