Robert Joseph Crouch

Dr. Robert Joseph Crouch serves as Senior Investigator and Head of the Section on Formation of RNA at the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), part of the National Institutes of Health. With over five decades of research experience since joining NICHD in 1971, he leads groundbreaking investigations into RNA/DNA hybrid resolution mechanisms and their critical role in genome stability.

Dr. Crouch received his Ph.D. from the Biochemistry Division of the Chemistry Department at the University of Illinois in 1968. Following a brief instructorship at the University of Bergen, Norway, and postdoctoral training with Dr. Raymond Gestland at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, he established his research program at NICHD where he has remained throughout his distinguished career.
