Robert Jenkins is a Teaching Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois, affiliated with the Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures and the Program in Translation & Interpreting Studies. He teaches courses in German literature, culture, and translation, while advising students on study abroad opportunities in Germany and Austria through programs like Illinois in Vienna.

His research spans late 19th to 21st-century German and Austrian literature, focusing on movements like Expressionism, New Objectivity, and Avant-garde forms. He has received the LAS Academic Professional Award for his contributions. Jenkins offers courses from beginner to advanced levels, covering German popular culture, literature, media, fairy tales, economics language, and specialized translation studies, including audiovisual subtitling.
