Robert J. Mills is a Professor of Data Analytics & Information Systems at the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business, Utah State University. His research focuses on computer-based learning environments, knowledge transfer, and MIS education. He has consulted for organizations like Silicon Graphics International (SGI) and IBM, and developed MIS textbook supplements for Pearson Publishing.
Education: PhD in Instructional Technology (Utah State University, 2000), MS in Business Information Systems (Utah State University, 1997), BS in Accounting (Brigham Young University-Hawaii, 1994).
Research interests include database systems pedagogy, technology-based training, and educational strategy. His work spans over 30 peer-reviewed publications in journals like Journal of Computer Information Systems and Journal of Information Systems Education.
He has received prestigious awards, including the Cazier Professor Lifetime Achievement Award (2024) and multiple Teacher of the Year distinctions. Active in teaching, he regularly instructs courses like Database Management and Advanced Database Analytics.
