David Winberg is an Adjunct Lecturer in Data Analytics and Information Systems at Utah State University's Jon M. Huntsman School of Business. Since joining in 2020, he teaches cybersecurity courses and develops curriculum. His distinguished 30-year career includes leadership roles at the National Security Agency as Director of NSA-Utah and at Space Dynamics Laboratory as Director of Special Programs.
Winberg's expertise spans cybersecurity strategy, systems engineering, telecommunications, and satellite operations. He holds a BA in History/Asian Studies from Utah State University/University of Hawaii, an MS in Systems Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, and graduate certificates from Harvard and George Washington University. His military honors include membership in the Utah National Guard Honorary Colonels Corps.
Courses taught include Cyber Strategy in the Modern World and Special Topics in Data Analytics, emphasizing real-world applications of security frameworks and emerging technologies.
