Robert J Rohrschneider is the Sir Robert Worcester Distinguished Professor of Political Science at the University of Kansas. His research focuses on comparative public opinion, European politics, German politics, and political methodology. He has held prestigious visiting roles, including a Guest Professorship at the University of Vienna (2016-2017) and a Fulbright Visiting Professorship at the University of Oxford (2016). Rohrschneider's work explores the interplay between institutions and public attitudes, with a particular emphasis on electoral behavior, party systems, and democratic representation. He has contributed to major projects such as the Oxford Handbook of Political Representation in Liberal Democracies (2020) and edited volumes analyzing the 2013 German Federal Election and the 2014 European Parliamentary Elections. His recent research addresses populism, democratic backsliding, and nationalism in Europe.
