معرفی
Robert Hindges is a Professor of Developmental Neurobiology at King's College London, leading the Neural Connectivity and Visual Function Lab. He holds roles as Director of the Centre for Developmental Neurobiology and Academic Head of the Genome Editing and Embryology Core Facility (GEEC). His research focuses on molecular mechanisms controlling neural circuit formation in the visual system using zebrafish and mouse models, with particular interest in genes linked to schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depression.
Education: PhD (Doctor of Science) from University of Zürich (1996), MSc in Biological Science (1992), BSc (1990).
Research Interests: Axon pathfinding, synaptogenesis, microRNA regulation, retinal ganglion cell connectivity. Current projects include investigating allele-biased gene expression impacts on physiology and developing zebrafish models for Major Depressive Disorder.
Awards: Advanced Postdoc Fellowship (Swiss NSF, 1999), Early Postdoc Fellowship (UZH, 1998), Friends of Guys Hospital Fellowship (2007).
Key Collaborations: Prof. Gerome Breen (KCL), Prof. Jeff W Lichtman (Harvard), Prof. Mike O Karl (Dresden), Prof. Uwe Drescher (KCL).
Labs/Teams: Neural Connectivity and Visual Function Lab; involved in MRC Human Functional Genomics consortium and Leverhulme-funded projects on retinal circuitry.
