Robert H. Sitkoff is the Austin Wakeman Scott Professor of Law and John L. Gray Professor of Law at Harvard Law School, where he holds dual chairs. He is the youngest professor with tenure to receive a chair in the school’s history. Previously, he taught at New York University School of Law and Northwestern University School of Law, earning multiple distinguished teaching awards. His research focuses on economic and empirical analysis of trusts, estates, and fiduciary administration, with publications in leading journals like the Yale Law Journal and Stanford Law Review. He co-authored Wills, Trusts, and Estates (Aspen 2020), a leading coursebook, and co-edited The Oxford Handbook of Fiduciary Law (2019). Sitkoff actively participates in law reform, serving on the Uniform Law Commission as a Massachusetts Commissioner. He chairs committees drafting trust and estate laws and advises the American Law Institute. He also serves as an expert witness and consultant in fiduciary-related litigation. Sitkoff graduated from the University of Chicago Law School with High Honors, managing editor of its Law Review, and recipient of the Olin Prize for excellence in law and economics.
