Robert Desjarlais is a Professor of Anthropology at Sarah Lawrence College in New York. He has authored numerous books, including Subject to Death: Life and Loss in a Buddhist World and The Blind Man: A Phantasmography. His collaborative work with Khalil Habrih on Traces of Violence: Writings on the Disaster in Paris, France explores the enduring impacts of the 2015 Paris attacks within broader contexts of state violence and colonial histories.
