Dr. Kamil Yilmaz is a Lecturer in Criminology at the Hillary Rodham Clinton School of Law, Swansea University, and a post-doctoral researcher at the Cyber Threats Research Center (CyTREC). He holds a PhD in applied political anthropology from Columbia University and multiple master's degrees in criminal justice, international affairs, and anthropology. His research focuses on terrorism, political violence, radicalization processes, and computational social science. He has authored numerous articles and the book Disengaging from Terrorism: Lessons from the Turkish Penitents (Routledge 2014).
Dr. Yilmaz has taught undergraduate and graduate courses on counter-terrorism, international politics, and discourse analysis. His current roles include supervising postgraduate research and contributing to initiatives like the Cyberterrorism Project. He has held positions such as Senior Researcher at the International Center for Transnational Crime and Terrorism (UTSAM, Ankara) and is affiliated with Artis International since 2020.
