Dr. Robert Cowan is a Senior Lecturer in Classics at the University of Sydney's Department of Classics and Ancient History. He serves as Postgraduate Research Coordinator and is affiliated with the Sydney Environment Institute and the Vere Gordon Childe Centre. His academic journey includes roles at the Universities of Exeter, Bristol, and Oxford, where he held a Tutorial Fellowship and University Lectureship at Balliol College. Cowan specializes in Latin poetry, Roman epic, and Greek drama, with a focus on the interplay between historicism and formal/textual analysis. His research bridges classical texts and modern critical frameworks, particularly in areas like ecofeminism and intertextuality.
