Robert Briggs is an Associate Professor at Curtin University's School of Media, Creative Arts and Social Inquiry within the Faculty of Humanities. He holds a BA (Hons) and a PhD from Murdoch University. His research focuses on cultural theory, continental philosophy, biopolitics, environmental humanities, and posthumanism, with a particular emphasis on the intersections of animals, politics, and technology. Briggs is the author of The Animal-To-Come: Zoopolitics in Deconstruction (2021) and co-founder of the journal Ctrl-Z: New Media Philosophy. His work engages deeply with thinkers like Derrida, Foucault, and Agamben, exploring themes such as the political ontology of animals and the role of media in shaping knowledge.
