Penelope Lisa Deutscher is a Professor in Philosophy and Comparative Literature at Northwestern University. Her research focuses on twentieth-century and contemporary French philosophy, particularly feminist thought, deconstruction, and the philosophy of gender. She also explores theories of genealogy and biopolitics through the works of Nietzsche, Foucault, and Agamben.
Her notable awards include the Humboldt Research Fellowship, a Distinguished Fellowship at Durham University's Institute of Advanced Study, and grants from the Australian Research Council. She has authored influential publications on feminist philosophy and deconstruction.
