معرفی
Robert Briers is Professor of Ecology & Biodiversity at Edinburgh Napier University's School of Applied Sciences, specializing in spatial ecology across aquatic ecosystems. His work integrates GIS, quantitative methods, and bioacoustics to address conservation and environmental management challenges. He leads research on carbon flows in freshwaters, urban pond conservation, and anthropogenic noise impacts.
- BSc (Hons) Aquatic Biology, University of Liverpool (1995)
- PhD Ecology, University of Sheffield (1999)
- PGCert Teaching & Learning in Higher Education, Edinburgh Napier (2007)
His research spans freshwater, marine, and terrestrial ecosystems, with a focus on underwater acoustics, anthropogenic impacts, and ecosystem modeling. Recent publications emphasize passive acoustic monitoring and global soundscapes. He supervises PhD students on topics including methane-derived carbon dynamics, seagrass conservation, and anthropogenic noise effects.
Robert serves as Director of The Wildlife Information Centre and Associate Editor for Aquatic Conservation: Marine & Freshwater Ecosystems. His work aligns with UN SDGs for climate action, life below water, and sustainable cities.
