Robert Bona is a Professor of Medicine (Hematology) at Yale School of Medicine and Director of the Classical Hematology Program at Smilow Cancer Hospital. He specializes in benign hematology, hemostasis/thrombosis, and bleeding disorders such as hemophilia. He also serves as Medical Director of the Hemophilia Treatment Center. Bona’s research focuses on optimizing treatments for bleeding and clotting disorders, including cost-effectiveness analyses of prophylactic therapies and diagnostic advancements using technologies like mass cytometry.
Education: MD from SUNY Upstate Medical Center (1980), followed by residency and fellowship training at Brown University and UConn School of Medicine. He previously held leadership roles at UConn and Quinnipiac University’s Netter School of Medicine.
