Robert Anderson is a Professor in the School of Communication at Simon Fraser University, where he has served since 1977. His expertise spans international negotiation, conflict analysis, and emergency communication. He founded the Dialogue Institute (2000–2004) and the cross-campus Devs-Group focused on development and sustainability. His work includes fostering environmental studies programs in Myanmar and leading international dialogues on foreign policy and Afghanistan. Anderson’s contributions to emergency management include advising BC’s critical infrastructure protection during wildfires and floods, leveraging innovations like the Common Operating Picture mapping system.
