Robert A. Broomfield is a Lecturer in the Mortuary Science and Funeral Service program at Southern Illinois University's College of Applied Sciences and Arts. He has served in this capacity since 2000 while also acting as an Academic Advisor for Dental Hygiene, Mortuary Science, and Radiologic Sciences programs.

- M.S.Ed. in Workforce Education and Development, SIU (2000)
Broomfield's expertise spans mortuary science education, death care services, and safety management. He previously owned a Trade Embalming Service and has integrated practical experience into his teaching. His research interests focus on workforce development in allied health professions.
He received the Service to the College Award (2005) and Administrative Professional Staff Excellence Award (2016) for his student-centered approach and institutional commitment.
Broomfield also serves as Director of the Building Emergency Response Team (B.E.R.T.) and Safety Liaison for the College of Applied Sciences and Arts, extending his safety expertise to community leadership as Safety Director for his church.
