معرفی
Professor Rob Parton is a Group Leader at the Institute for Molecular Bioscience (IMB), University of Queensland. His research focuses on membrane trafficking, cellular organization, caveolae biology, and lipid droplet function. He leads the Role of the cell surface in health and disease group, part of the Centre for Cell Biology of Chronic Disease. His work explores caveolae dynamics, nanoparticle delivery mechanisms, and lipid droplet roles in immunity.
Professor Parton holds an ARC Laureate Fellowship investigating nanoparticle pathways in vivo. His lab uses advanced microscopy and zebrafish models to study membrane domains and disease mechanisms. Key interests include caveolae-mediated stress responses, T-tubule formation in muscle, and lipid droplet-driven innate immunity.
- Awards: ARC Laureate Fellowship
- Grants: Tracking nanoparticles (ARC), Lipid droplet immune hubs (ERC)
- Students: Le Nguyen, Lucas Thor, Navia John, Haolan Sun
- Team: Includes researchers like Dr. Tom Hall, Dr. Ye-Wheen Lim, and Dr. Harriet Lo
His lab develops novel tools for drug delivery and explores mechanotransduction in epithelial cells. Current projects include zebrafish models for muscle diseases and nanovesicle engineering for therapy delivery.
