Rob Godman is a Professor in Music at the University of Hertfordshire, specializing in interdisciplinary practices through his role in the School of Creative Arts. As a composer and sound artist, he has been active since the 1990s, with works commissioned by major festivals like Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival and St Magnus Festival.
Research Interests:
- Live instrument with responsive electronics
- Algorithmic and spatial sound
- Interdisciplinary collaborations with architects, sculptors, and medical experts
- Integration of scientific principles (e.g., Faraday Instability) into sound design
- Field recordings for hidden environment exploration
- Ancient acoustics, particularly Vitruvian principles
