Ritty Lukose is an Associate Professor at the Gallatin School of Individualized Study, New York University. She holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Chicago (1989), M.A. in Anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania (1992), and Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of Chicago (2001). Her research focuses on intersections of gender, sexuality, and political economy in globalized contexts, particularly in South Asia.

Her current projects include 'Between Empire and Neoliberalism: The 'Woman Question' in the 1970s' and 'Digital Intimacy: Young Women and Social Transformation in Asia' (collaborative ethnography across China, Singapore, Hong Kong, and India). Recent publications address decolonial feminism, global feminist histories, and culinary politics.
Notable works include her 2009 book on youth and consumer citizenship in India and her co-edited 2012 volume on South Asian feminisms. Her research bridges anthropology, gender studies, and postcolonial theory.
