Risper Nyairo is an Assistant Professor in the Environmental Studies Department at Davidson College, where she applies interdisciplinary methods to study socio-ecological vulnerability and climate change adaptation. Her work integrates Geographic Information Systems (GIS), earth system modeling, and collaboration with ecologists, economists, and data scientists.

Research Themes: Monitoring nitrous oxide emissions from specialty crops, enhancing water and soil conservation using high-resolution geospatial data, analyzing species dynamics under climate change, and developing climate analogues for adaptation strategies. Her lab (CCHAMAL) focuses on data-driven solutions to global environmental challenges.
Lab & Mentoring: Based in the Wall Academic Building room 181, CCHAMAL mentors Independent Study and Capstone students. She teaches courses like Environmental Science, Weather and Climate, and Paleoclimatology.
