معرفی
Rima Chatterjee is the Ross Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Ohio State University (OSU), working with Beibei Liu. She previously held a postdoctoral position at the University of Cologne and earned her Ph.D. from Louisiana State University (LSU) in 2021 under the supervision of Shea Vela-Vick. She co-organizes the Topology Seminar at OSU and is a visiting postdoc at Georgia Tech (supported by an AWM-NSF Mentoring Grant).
Her research focuses on low-dimensional topology, contact geometry, and knot theory. Key interests include the classification and structural analysis of Legendrian and transverse knots, connections between contact geometry and Heegaard Floer theory, and algorithmic problems in 4-manifold topology. She explores topics like Legendrian surgeries, cable links, and contact surgeries on Brieskorn spheres and lens spaces.
Her work bridges geometric topology and algebraic methods, addressing foundational questions in contact topology and knot theory. She has contributed to understanding non-loose knots, overtwisted manifolds, and the decidability of 4-manifold homeomorphisms.
- Awards: None explicitly listed.
- Grants: AWM-NSF Mentoring Grant (Georgia Tech visit).
Her research also extends to 4-dimensional topology, including Kirby diagrams and stable diffeomorphism classifications. She collaborates extensively, with notable co-authors including John Etnyre, Hansjörg Geiges, and others.
