Monika

Monika is a Researcher at the Statistics and Mathematics Unit, Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. She obtained her doctoral degree in 2024 from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Bhopal, under the supervision of Dr. Dheeraj Kulkarni.

• Research Focus: Low-dimensional topology, knot theory, and contact geometry

Her doctoral thesis explored the Jones Polynomial, Khovanov Homology, and the Cost Function associated with Legendrian knots in (R³, ξ_st). Current projects include constructing a graph invariant for Legendrian knots and studying contact surgery numbers of contact 3-manifolds.
