Rikke Lybæk is an Associate Professor at Roskilde University (RUC) in the Department of People and Technology, leading research on climate adaptation, renewable energy transitions, and sustainable resource management. She co-leads the POSEIDON project, focusing on climate adaptation strategies in the Danish-German border region. Her work emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, citizen engagement, and cross-sectoral solutions.
She holds an MSc and PhD, and teaches Climate Change & Energy at RUC and contributes to the SLUSE course at the University of Copenhagen. Her research spans biogas technologies in Southeast Asia, legume-based agricultural systems, and circular resource use. She collaborates with municipalities, NGOs, and industries through projects like Coastal Biogas and Re-plastic.
Research interests include climate resilience, renewable energy scaling, and just transitions, with a focus on integrating technical, institutional, and social dimensions. She has supervised numerous Master's and PhD students and actively participates in Danish and international sustainability networks.
