Rijcken Iepke

Iepke Rijcken is a Researcher at the Department of Sociology and Social Geography, Faculty of Social Sciences, Paris Lodron University of Salzburg. She joined the university in June 2022 as part of the VISION project, a collaboration between DeZIM Institute (Berlin), University of Amsterdam, and Salzburg.

Her research focuses on transnational labor migration, feminist theory, and intersectionality, using ethnographic and visual participatory methods. She investigates lifeworlds in European 'inner-peripheries' (Germany/Poland) and explores how marginalized groups navigate socio-economic inequalities.

Key publications highlight her methodological innovations in multisensory migration research and critical analyses of reproductive rights activism. In 2023, she received a research scholarship. Her work engages with activist communities like Strajk Kobiet (Poland) and collaborates with institutions such as DeZIM Institute (Berlin) and Chamber of Commerce of East Brandenburg (2024 research stay).
