Riitta Partanen

Professor Riitta Partanen is the Director of the Rural Clinical School at the University of Queensland, overseeing four Regional Clinical Units and three Regional Training Hubs across Queensland. A specialist GP since 1994, she has held leadership roles including Head of Hervey Bay Regional Clinical Unit and Co-Director of Learning for the Rural Clinical School. Her academic career spans clinical practice, medical education innovation, and rural health policy.

Education: Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from The University of Queensland and a Postgraduate Diploma. Current research focuses on rural medical workforce development, geographical narcissism's impact on career choices, and optimizing rural training pathways.
