Riitta Juvonen is a University Lecturer at the University of Helsinki's Department of Education within the Faculty of Educational Sciences. Her research focuses on writing practices in educational contexts, multilingual didactics, and collaborative learning processes. She holds a title of docent in Finnish language from the Faculty of Arts (2024).
- Current projects include Mitä on pakko oppia? (2025–2028) and Multilingual didactics and dialogues (DIDIA, 2018–2022).
- Active in supervising doctoral theses, including recent work with J. Pesonen and ongoing supervision since 2016.
- Awarded the August Ahlqvistin dissertation prize (2015) and E.A. Saarimaan article prize (2011).
Her research emphasizes cross-curricular writing, digital literacy, and the interplay between language and education. Notable contributions include analyses of collaborative writing processes in environmental and social studies classrooms, as well as syntactic structures in examination texts.
