Riede Peter is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Old Testament Studies at the Faculty of Protestant Theology, Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen. His academic journey includes studies in Tübingen, Bern, and Heidelberg, followed by pastoral work and research roles. He has held positions as a research assistant in Heidelberg and later at Tübingen, contributing to projects like the "Tier- und Pflanzenwelt der Bibel."
His research focuses on Old Testament theology, anthropological themes, prophetic literature, biblical metaphorics, creation theology, and agro-theology. He has explored topics ranging from animal symbolism in scripture to the theological significance of agricultural practices in ancient Israel.
