Prof. Dr. Kathrin Liess is a Professor of Old Testament and Biblical Theology at Reutlingen Theological College since October 2024. Previously, she held acting professorships and teaching positions at multiple German universities, including Bochum, Munich, Regensburg, and Münster.
- Education: Studied Protestant Theology, German Studies, and Educational Sciences at the Universities of Kiel and Heidelberg; completed habilitation in 2016.
Her research focuses on the Old Testament, particularly the Psalms and Psalter, Biblical Anthropology, prophetic texts like Isaiah, and the reception history of biblical writings. She has contributed to interdisciplinary work through her fellowship at the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences, examining the human life cycle from biological, societal, and cultural perspectives.
Notable Contributions: Worked on Hebrew poetry syntax projects and clinical pastoral training, with expertise in Old Testament exegesis and hermeneutics.
