Richard Watkins is an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at Bangor University's School of Educational Sciences and an Honorary Associate Professor at the University of Warwick's Faculty of Social Sciences. He serves as Research and Evaluation Lead for the North Wales Regional School Improvement Service (GwE) and is co-director of the Collaborative Institute for Education Research, Evidence and Impact (CIEREI).
His professional background includes:
- Education Adviser working with maintained primary schools in North Wales (April 2013 - present)
- Part time lecturer in Primary BEd science education modules at Liverpool John Moores University (January 2005 - March 2009)
Watkins' research focuses on evidence-based educational practices, particularly how teachers and school leaders utilize research evidence to improve student outcomes.
