Richard Reibstein is an Affiliated Faculty member of the Institute for Global Sustainability (IGS) and Lecturer in the Department of Earth & Environment at Boston University's College of Arts & Sciences. He teaches environmental law courses like Law for Sustainability (EE521) and has developed specialized courses such as Research for Environmental Agencies (EE538) and Reconstructing Environmental Governance (EE552). His work focuses on improving environmental governance through democratic engagement and regulatory efficiency, emphasizing pollution reduction and minimizing adverse economic impacts.

His research interests center on sustainable environmental responsibility, regulatory frameworks for corporations and institutions, and fostering public dialogue to achieve ecological and public health goals. Reibstein also consults for BU's Campus Sustainability Steering Committee and collaborates with state agencies and the EPA on environmental compliance initiatives.
