Richard Redon

Richard Redon is a Research Director at Inserm and Laboratory Director of l'institut du thorax at the University of Nantes, recognized internationally for his expertise in analyzing structural variation in the human genome and its relationship to cardiac disorders.

Dr. Redon's research bridges genetics, genomics, and bioinformatics to address fundamental questions in cardiac medicine. His work focuses on using genomic approaches to understand cardiac arrhythmia disorders and identify genetic risk factors for sudden cardiac death. Since establishing his research team at l'institut du thorax in 2009 with ATIP-Avenir program support, he has led international genome-wide association studies and coordinates the VaCaRMe program. His early contributions at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute helped develop microarray-based approaches for studying copy number variation in evolution and disease.
