Jill Anne Mokry, M.S., is a certified genetic counselor and Associate Professor in the Department of Molecular & Human Genetics at Baylor College of Medicine. She holds a secondary affiliation with the Undiagnosed Diseases Network (UDN) research study.
- Education: M.S. in Medical & Molecular Genetics from Indiana University (2008), B.S. in Biology from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2002)
Her research focuses on genome-wide testing applications in human disease, including chromosomal microarrays, whole exome sequencing, and nonallelic homologous recombination mechanisms. She investigates genotype-phenotype correlations for microdeletions, microduplications, and developmental disorders.
Her publications between 2014-2012 reveal trends in neurodevelopmental disorders, copy number variation analysis, and prenatal genomic diagnostics. Key topics include 14q32 imprinted gene clusters, 1q21.1 microdeletions, and HERV-H retroelement-mediated syndromes.
She is a Full Member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors (since 2006), Associate Member of the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (since 2009), and Regular Member of the American Society of Human Genetics (since 2010).
