Richard Pineau is a Professor of Teaching in the Department of Mathematics at Wayne State University's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. He has been a faculty member since 2013 and was promoted to full Professor of Teaching in 2025. He is also a member of the WSU Academy of Teachers, the Academic Senate, and serves as the STA 1020 Elementary Statistics course coordinator.

Research Interests:
Richard's teaching and research focus on student success, particularly in STEM disciplines. His work includes mentorship of graduate teaching assistants, trauma-informed teaching, and accessible course design. He is currently completing his Ph.D. dissertation on mentoring and support for STEM graduate teaching assistants.
He has contributed to curriculum development, including remedial math support materials and placement exam boot camps. His scholarly presentations and webinars often center on inclusive pedagogy, teaching portfolios, and AI in education.
