Richard Pestell

Richard Pestell is an Officer of the Order of Australia, physician-scientist, and President of the Pennsylvania Cancer and Regenerative Medicine Center. As Adjunct Professor at UWA Medical School, his pioneering work identified cyclin D1 and CCR5 as cancer targets, directly informing FDA-approved therapies. With over 700 publications and 88,000 citations, he has directed comprehensive cancer centers at Georgetown and Thomas Jefferson Universities.

His current research examines nuclear receptor acetylation in cancer progression and leads global disease burden studies. Honors include the Eric Susman Prize and Light of Life Award. Dr. Pestell maintains active clinical practice in oncology and endocrinology while leading international cancer initiatives.
