Richard Pestell

Richard Pestell is the Blumberg Distinguished Professor at Thomas Jefferson University and President of the Pennsylvania Cancer and Regenerative Medicine Center. He has led major cancer centers, including the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center and Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center. A clinician-scientist, he holds MBBS, MD, PhD, and MBA degrees, with expertise in oncology, endocrinology, and cell cycle regulation. His research focuses on cancer therapy, tumor heterogeneity, and drug development, contributing to clinical trials of CDK inhibitors and CCR5 antagonists. He has published over 700 works and received prestigious awards, including Officer of the Order of Australia for contributions to medicine and education. Dr. Pestell has secured $86 million in grants and founded six biotechnology companies, advancing cancer diagnostics and therapeutics.
